Biography

Mark Dufton has over 20 years of real estate and management experience. In his role as Chief Executive Officer, Mark will leverage his broad industry expertise to further expand both DJM Realty’s core businesses and its growing and expanding services. Prior to Mark’s role as CEO, he was Principal and Senior Managing Director of DJM Realty and was in charge of managing over 35 DJM Realty clients focusing primarily on bankruptcy services, lease mitigation, and restructuring programs. Mark’s projects have included the $8M stock purchase of a New England supermarket chain, a joint venture with a national discount retailer to acquire a competitor, multi-million dollar financings secured by real estate and portfolio acquisitions in the restaurant industry. Mark’s clients include TJX, Food Lion, Dollar General, Hannaford Brothers, Big Lots, Kash N Karry, Bertuccis, Friendly’s, Ground Round, Casual Male, Carters/ Osh Kosh, Brooks/ Eckerd, Bally Shoes, Samuels Jewelers, MARS Music, Etienne Aigner, Franklin Mint, Decathlon Sports, Tower Records , Payless Shoes, Bonus Stores, Prints Plus, and Woodworkers Warehouse. Mark has successfully mitigated or restructured over 1,500 leases savings clients more than $100M.

Mark is also a Managing Director for Dinosaur Capital Partners, a Boston-based real estate investment and development company. Prior to DJM Realty, Mark was the Vice President of Real Estate and then the Chief Operating Officer for Jeepers! and was instrumental in their successful out-of-court restructuring which included a complete overhaul of all aspects of the business in addition to thirty lease restructures and terminations. Prior to Jeepers! Mark served as the Senior Manager of Real Estate Acquisitions, Dispositions and Leasing at Bank of America (formerly BankBoston), where he completed more than 100 retail and office transactions. He served five years in the US Army Corps of Engineers where he attained the rank of Captain and managed over twenty major construction projects. Mr. Dufton has his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
