As Managing Director of DJM Realty, Ben is responsible for the disposition of surplus properties, renegotiation of occupancy costs, lease terminations and valuations. Ben's primary focus is on the operational side of DJM Realty's projects. Ben assisted in the development of DJM’s widely recognized financial model and has provided the valuation of over 6,000 retail and commercial leasehold and fee owned interests nationally. Ben has been responsible for developing DJM Realty's industry leading deal tracking and reporting system. Specializing in capital solutions, Ben has generated millions of lease savings for clients.
Ben’s diverse background and understanding of real estate allows him to participate in numerous aspects of DJM’s divisions. Ben has played a major organizational and strategy role in dispositions, rent reductions and valuations of many healthy companies such as Smith & Hawken, Borders, Pier 1 and Winn Dixie as well as bankrupt retailers such as Circuit City, Linens 'N Things, Movie Gallery, Frank’s Nursery, Levitz Furniture, Bombay Furniture and Workbench Furniture. Ben was an integral team member assisting Bear Stearns Merchant Banking and C&S Wholesale Grocers in merger and acquisition transactions.
Ben joined DJM in 2001 and has a Finance Degree concentrated in Real Estate Finance and Mortgage Backed Securities.
