As Managing Director, Mike Matlat brings over 20 years of real estate experience to DJM Realty. Mike handles special situations that cover all aspects of real estate including retail, office, industrial, hospitality, vacant land and multi-use properties. Mike specializes in the disposition of both leased and fee owned real estate, the restructuring of leases, the negotiation of lease terminations and concessions.
Through the years, Mike has worked with the following companies: Office Depot, Advance Auto Parts, Barney's, Filene's, Crowley Milner & Steinbach Stores Footstar, Foot Locker, Northern Reflections, Arthur Andersen, Quality Stores, Blockbuster, Movie Gallery, Betsy Johnson, Clinton Mills Industries, Pillowtex, Albertsons, Service Merchandise, Family Golf Centers and Meadowcraft.
Prior to joining DJM Realty, Mike worked for Keen Realty. Mike has been instrumental in multi-million dollar real estate transactions for retailers. These transactions included sales of property, diverse portfolio assets, and leases to both national and local retailers and investors.
In addition, Mike is the former President of The Turnaround Management Association of the Long Island, New York Chapter. Mike has been a member of The Turnaround Management Association for over 10 years.
Mike holds an M.S. in Education from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
